USSA Grand Prix of Snowboarding – Copper Mountain, Colorado (December 13, 2008)

Congrats to Louie Vito for his win at the 1st stop of the 2009 U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix held at Copper Mountain, Colorado.  With the snow dumping causing slideouts for many athletes made it tough to put together a solid run.  LV was able to stomp back to back 1080’s to back to back 900’s and a huge stalefish to seal the number 1 spot.  Congrats to Mr. Vito and all the athletes that competed.

TODD RICHARDS EXPOSES ALL LAYERS…

POSTED BY: editor 11/12/2008

ME, MYSELF, AND I- THE TODD RICHARDS STORY

Acknowledged as one of the most influential riders in freestyle snowboarding- Todd Richards continues to make his mark in an industry he helped create.

A film by Award winning director Josh Landan (Against the Grain, Flow - The true story of a surfing revolution) “Me, Myself and I” reveals the story of a man hailed as one of the most decorated snowboarders in history- from birth to legend. Todd Richards exposes all layers as he chronicles his life on film for the very first time. He was introduced to the sport in its infancy, and took over as it was catapulted onto the world’s stage. Riding professionally for over 19 years, Todd is a force to be reckoned with, dominating Winter X Games, Vans Triple Crown and the US Open. Not only was he the first gold medal X-Games winner, he also participated in the first US Snowboarding team at the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Currently residing with his family in Encinitas, CA- Todd is part owner of O-Matic Snowboards, and rides for Quiksilver, DC Shoes, Nixon, Spy, and Pro-Tec helmets.

This feature length documentary will surely entertain, educate and captivate its audience. Todd created success with his wit, competitive drive, and positive outlook on life- inspiring the hero in all of us.

Me, Myself and I will be sent to film festivals and released on DVD in 2009.

Keep checking back here for world premiere date and location :)

Louie Vito + 686

POSTED BY: Team 03/12/2008

Westlife Distribution is pleased to announce the addition of Louie Vito to the 686 Global Pro Team.

Louie is a 20-year old Ohio-native who currently resides in Sandy, Utah. This past year, Louie was crowned the overall Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix series title champion. He found himself on top of the podium again two days later at The Jeep King of the Mountain Superpipe Championships in Squaw Valley, California. At the Vans Cup, Vito took second place behind Danny Kass.

Despite his successful career, Louie hasn’t forgotten where he came from; he still finds time to give back to his roots, hosting a very successful charitable rail jam every year in Ohio.

Vito says about riding for 686, “I am stoked to join the 686 family. Their outerwear is tech and is perfect for riding icy pipes to sledding in the backcountry. It is cool to be a part of a company that was started by a snowboarder and snowboarding has been the main focus since day one.”

“When we first started talking to LV, I was blown away by his charismatic personality,” says Kristin Cusic, VP of Marketing at 686, “His track record speaks volumes for his riding ability, but his personality is what really brings him up to that next level. We couldn’t be happier and think it’s a perfect fit.”

OMATIC MAKES IT RAIN IN MAMMOTH

POSTED BY: editor 22/11/2008

Greetings my fellow O-maticans, this is the captian of the O-hype department here to tell you about our opening weekend parties in Mammoth.  Thanks to our good friend Nam…  Omatic, Elm, and Dragon joined forces to throw a sweet kickoff party at Lakanuki.  MFM was behind the DJ booth, there was complimentary Monster Energy and tons of free shwag for the crowd.

Speaking of free stuff, we made it rain with mad loot!!!  We put some funny Louie Vito money in the stack worth a brand new Omatic Celebrity 152 hand delivered by none other than Mr. Louie Vito himself.  Keep an eye out for other Omatic Snowboards funny money worth cool free stuff.  On Saturday we rolled over to P3 with the Pirate Movie Production crew and a gaggle of pro shreds from their new movie “Overseas” for an outdoor premier followed by another one of Nam’s parties at Sushirei.  Be sure to look for Mike Cassanova’s part in “Overseas”.

As we drove back towards the O-bubble we added the costs of a weekend in Mammoth.  With $69 lift tickets soon to be $80 something, gas, food and expenses you barely can afford new gear.  Fortunately for you all, we care about YOU!!!  We at Omatic have a selection of Super, Awesome, and Sweet boards for under $400.  They ride amazing so go out and get one!!
